more of christmas.2008

we enjoyed a lot of side adventures while home in nj for Christmas. one of them included this trip to george washington's headquarters in morristown. most of us hadn't been there since we were kids or had never been there at all (frank, namely). so, we enjoyed this building here where they had some historical artifacts and great museum showing many historic documents from washington's time period. fun day!

here's a picture of the front of the home used for washington's headquarters. it was a large home for its day.

some cool rooms showing some period items to take you back in time...

a view similar to what washington probably saw during the war...

here's a back view of the headquarter's home...

mom's annual christmas party is always the event of the year! here we are all dressed up for the big event...a picture full of pictures (mom, megs, aunt peg and me).

one of my favorite things about mom's parties are the fun games...mom always cracks up during these--making us all crack up even more.

mom surprised her sister, peg, with a birthday cake at her party...where the christmas party happened to be on her actual birthday.

before leaving the nj home for the last time, we took some last shots of the childhood home. here is the back view of the home, including the glassed-in porch dad worked on.

dad built this cool shed/fort for us when we were a little older. there were two bunk beds in there and he even strung up an electrical line from the house, so we could have light at night. :)

this plaque was outside our home for as long as i can remember...and it was a statement we were reared upon and personally accepted when we each accepted Christ as our personal Lord and Savior.

one last sentimental look at the childhood home...
